5. KẾT LUẬN
Bệnh sốt rét vẫn là một gánh nặng lớn đối với sức khỏe toàn cầu, do tính sinh học phức tạp của Plasmodium và trầm trọng hơn bởi sự bất bình đẳng dai dẳng về xã hội và y tế. Bài báo này đã khám phá các cơ chế phân tử làm nền tảng cho bệnh sinh của sốt rét, bao gồm sự xâm nhập của hồng cầu, sự né tránh miễn dịch thông qua biến đổi kháng nguyên và sự xuất hiện của tình trạng kháng thuốc, đồng thời xem xét các tiến bộ điều trị đầy hứa hẹn như các thuốc chống sốt rét mới, kháng thể đơn dòng và các nền tảng vaccine đa giai đoạn.
Mặc dù những đổi mới này đánh dấu bước tiến quan trọng, con đường hướng tới việc xóa sổ bệnh sốt rét đòi hỏi những nỗ lực nghiên cứu bền vững. Các nghiên cứu trong tương lai cần tập trung vào việc xác định các mục tiêu thuốc không thể đột biến, cải thiện độ bền của vaccine và khả năng bảo vệ chéo giữa các chủng, cũng như phát triển các chiến lược để ngăn chặn sự lây truyền ở nhiều giai đoạn trong vòng đời của ký sinh trùng. Mở rộng giám sát hệ gen và tích hợp các phương pháp đa omics sẽ rất cần thiết để theo dõi xu hướng kháng thuốc và hướng dẫn các liệu pháp chính xác. Việc LTSR sẽ đòi hỏi một nỗ lực phối hợp toàn cầu, kết hợp giữa khám phá khoa học và việc thực hiện công bằng. Bằng cách đầu tư vào nghiên cứu thế hệ mới và tăng cường hợp tác quốc tế, có thể đẩy nhanh tiến độ hướng tới một tương lai không còn bệnh sốt rét.
