Confronted with the situation of dengue fever / dengue haemorrhagic fever (DF/DHF) cases increasing and DF/DHF outbreaks tending to spread in many provinces in late 2010, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has decided to provide insecticide and equipment for the emergency prevention of dengue fever at severely-hit provinces of Central Vietnam.
On June 6, 2010 the annual meeting of the Central Project Managing Unit (CPMU) for dengue fever control was held to evaluate the dengue fever situation in the first 5 months of 2010 and work out the activities for the remaining time of the year. The meeting also assigned responsibilities for the institutesinvolved in the Central Vietnam dengue fever control project.
On 2nd November, 2009, the Central Management Board of the Dengue Fever Control Project, a national target programme for controlling several emerging diseases, dangerous diseases and HIV/AIDS held a meeting at the Health Ministry office to evaluate the dengue fever situation in the first 10 months of 2009, the deployed epidemic control measures, the project plan in the last two months of 2009 and the operational plan for 2010.
