The deadline for abstract submissions for IMED 2016 is just one week away - o­nJULY 1st. There is still time to submit your abstracts at the Abstract Submission website. We are excited to share updates with you o­n the fantastic program that has been assembled for the 6th International Meeting o­n Emerging Diseases and Surveillance on 4-7 November in Vienna, Austria, covering current issues and the latest results.

This year IMED will be held in conjunction with a Hackathon that will bring together multidisciplinary teams to develop practice-oriented solutions to work o­n the development of innovative approaches to detect, predict, and prevent the next outbreak at the intersections of climate change, migration, technology, medicine, social economy, and the public and private sectors. Prototype projects from the Hackathon will be presented during IMED 2016.

1. Have been working in clinical tropical medicine and travelers’ health and want to learn the most up-to-date science in the field.

2. Have been spending some of your professional time in clinical tropical medicine and travelers’ health and are interested in obtaining an overview of the field.

Journal of Tropical Medicine

I would like to invite you to submit an article to Journal of Tropical Medicine, a peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing original research articles and review articles related to all aspects of tropical medicine.

Publishing an article in Journal of Tropical Medicine normally requires Article Processing Charges (APCs) of USD 800. However, all APCs will be waived for manuscripts submitted to Journal of Tropical Medicine during August 2016. Manuscripts should be submitted to the journal at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jtm/.

Journal of Tropical Medicine has recently been accepted for coverage in the Emerging Sources Citation Index, which is a new edition of the Web of Science that was launched in November 2015. This means that any article published in the journal will be indexed in the Web of Science at the time of publication. The journal is an open-access publication, which means that anyone can access it o­nline at:
