Partners gathered this week in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to assess progress in the malaria fight across the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). More than 55 representatives from ministries of health, WHO, funding agencies and other organizations shared updates on technical approaches, achievements and lessons learned.
Washington, D.C., 29 September 2016 (PAHO/WHO) - Noting that malaria "remains a serious threat" in the Americas that has resurged where efforts against the disease have weakened, health ministers from across the Region today adopted a new plan for malaria elimination over the next four years, urging countries to intensify the fight against the disease.
In the afternoon of May 24, 2016, the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-Quy Nhon) gave a warm welcome to the Swedish students, who arrived in Vietnam under the student exchange programme in Global Health within the cooperation between HaNoi Medical University and Karolinska Institutet (Sweden). This is the second time IMPE-Quy Nhon has received the Swedish delegation according to the suggestion of the Provincial People's Committee of Binh Dinh.
