Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong emphasized that more focalized and aggressive interventions should be considered and implemented in confirmed foci of transmissions to eliminate malaria, and close supervision of areas with mobilized and migrant populations.
In order to have updates on malaria situation in the field and find out difficulties and challenges in malaria prevention and elimination, on May 17, 2022, a collaborative mission between the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN) and World Health Organization (WHO) Representative's Office to Viet Nam visited and worked at the Heath Center of Krong Pa district (HC-KP), Gia Lai province.
A programme on developing human resources serving the health sector in 2011-2016 proved effective, helping the Ministry of Health establish and fortify key foundations of the medical workforce system, heard a review conference in Hanoi on March 22.
2016 is the first year of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) as well as the beginning of "Global technical strategy for malaria from 2016 to 2030" of the World Health Assembly (WHA) which provides a technical framework for all malaria-endemic nations towards reaching the goal of eliminating malaria. Despite lots of difficulties and challenges, the period 2016-2030 is long enough for Vietnam as well as the whole world to be able to "End Malaria For Good".
Launching the National Framework for Malaria Elimination in India 2016-2030 today, Mr J. P. Nadda, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India said, “India stands committed to eliminating Malaria and is committed to allocating infrastructure and financial resources to this task.”
