In order to evaluate the results of malaria control in the past time and orient the plan for future malaria elimination efforts, on December 20, 2022, Institute of Malariology, Parasitology, and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN) held the conference to review malaria control and elimination in Central Vietnam 2022 in Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province.
Malaria cases and deaths remain unacceptably high and are resurgent in several settings, though recent developments inspire optimism. This includes the approval of the world's first malaria vaccine and results from novel vaccine candidates and trials testing innovative combinatorial interventions.
Attending the launching ceremony on propagating "World Malaria Day 25 April 2022" in Quy Nhon city, Dr. Mya Sapal Ngon - Medical Officer of WHO Representative's Office to Viet Nam spoke about the purpose and meaning of World Malaria Day on April 25 and believed that Viet Nam could contribute to the innovation to end malaria.
This year, with the theme "Harness innovationto reduce the malaria disease burden and save lives", the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN) organised the launching ceremony of the World Malaria Day in Quy Nhon city to enhance the awareness and knowledge on malaria.
