Physiochemical and microbiological laboratories of IMPE Quy Nhon recognized to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards
On October 2013, the laboratories of physiochemical and microbiological analysis, belonging to the Molecular Biological Department of IMPE Quy Nhon, were certified to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards, contributing to the service of the food hygience and safety in the health sector.
As a medical service units in the field of preventive medicine, the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-Quy Nhon) has established and put into operation the physiochemical and microbiological analysis laboratories to serve the food hygience and safety of the Ministry of Health. From April 2012, the Department of Molecular Biology the IMPE Quy Nhon (DMB/IMPE-QN) has set up and applied the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards to the chemical and biological testing, with the assistance and consultancy of the Training Center-Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality, a units with perennial experience in the field of consultancy, development and application of ISO/IEC 17025 standards in Vietnam. By October 2013, the DMB/IMPE-QN has been assessed and recognized to the conformity of the Department of Molecular Biology with the ISO/ IEC 17025:2005 standards.

Facilities/equipment and human resources of the Department of Molecular Biology (DMB) The DMB consists of 14 staff members, including 1 PhD of biochemistry, 1 Master of analytical chemistry, 1 Master of Microbiology, 3 Bachelors of analytical chemistry, 1 engineer of biotechnology, 4 bachelors of Biology, 1 medical technician. The affiliated laboratories specialize in physiochemistry, chromatography, microbiology and molecular biology and undertake the functions/tasks specific toevery testing fields such as basic physiochemistry, chromatography, microbiology, toxicology, PCR, etc. These labs have been equipped with lots of modern machinery such as Gas chromatography (GC/FID, GC/ECD, GC/MS), High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC/UV-VIS), UV-Visible Molecular Absorption Spectrometry (UV-VIS), Realtime PCR machines, and so on.
