On 11 July, 2012, the Ministry of Health (MoH) held the official appointment announcement ceremony of new IMPE-QN's Director Dr. Nguyen Van Chuong in place of Dr. Trieu Nguyen Trung, who is of an age to discontinue the management and finish his directorial term of the Institute.

The ceremony was held at the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN) with the attendance of Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long - Vice Minister of the MoH and the leaderships of the Organization and Personnel Department - MoH, Mr. Mai Thanh Thang - Member of the Standing Committee & Vice-chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Dang Hoai Tan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Dinh Provincial Agencies; the leaders from the Quy Hoa National Leprosy Dermatology Hospital, Military Hospital 13-Military Region V, Orthopedic Centre, Binh Dinh Provincial Health Department, Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical & Medical Equipment Company (BIDIPHAR), Binh Dinh Province's Public Security, People's Committee of Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Center for Prevention of Malaria and Endocrinology, Binh Dinh Provincial Preventive Medicine Centre; IMPE-QN Leaderships, Executive Board of the Institute Party Committee and the whole staff of the IMPE-QN.

            O­n behalf of the MoH's leadership, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long appreciated the IMPE-QN's achievements in recent years o­n epidemics prevention and control activities, scientific research, training and creation of speciality network of controlling malaria and other parasitic and vector-born diseases in Central-Western Highland. Especially, the Vice Minister of MoH showed high opinion of the leading role of Assoc.Prof. Dr. Trieu Nguyen Trung - Institute Former Director & Deputy Secretary of the Institute Party Committee in his almost two directorial terms, who is credited with building the unity and solidarity among the Institute staff members and developing the Institute in all aspects, such as effectively controlling malaria, parasitosis and other epidemics; creating a cadre of scientific staff experienced in professional knowledge and management; investing in material facilities (working places, high-tech equipment); expanding the specialist services pertaining to disease diagnosis and treatment as well as other science and technology services; improving the Institute staff's life quality, etc. Although Dr. Trung is no longer in his Institute administration position, he will continue his professional work at the IMPE-QN to serve the people's healthcare.

             In his speech o­n undertaking the new assignment, the new Director - Dr. Nguyen Van Chuong expressed his gratitude to the confidence of the MoH's leaderships as well as all the Institute staff and wished to receive much more interest and support from the MoH, Party Committee of Binh Dinh Provincial Agencies, Binh Dinh provincial sectors and branches, Executive Committee of the Institute Party Committee, the Institute Directorate and the whole staff members; especially he hoped to continue learning valuable experience from Assoc.Prof. Trieu Nguyen Trung so as to accomplish the entrusted task excellently, developing the IMPE-QN o­n a level with other Institutes in Vietnam and the region.
