UK-Vietnam Infectious Diseases Workshop 14-16 April: Expressions of interest

The UK Medical Research Council and the Vietnamese Ministry of Science andTechnology will hold a joint call for research proposals in 2015. In preparation for the call,MRC and MOST will hold a workshop from 14 -16 April in Hanoi to explore UK-Vietnamese opportunities for collaboration.

 

The upcoming call for proposals will focus o­n research into infectious diseases of relevance to Vietnam and particularly those impacting the most vulnerable in society. Areas of interest include;

· Malaria Research

· Antimicrobial resistance

· Vaccine development

The funders welcome proposals for research in the Infectious Disease spaces, across the spectrum of research activities, from understanding the mechanisms of diseases, detection and diagnosis, development of therapeutics to public health and social care systems.

 

The workshop will be an opportunity to meet researchers from Vietnamese Institutions and explore opportunities for research collaboration. The agenda for the workshop includes time for networking and sharing information about UK and Vietnamese research expertise and areas of interest, as well as visits to leading research centres in and around Hanoi.

How to apply

We would like to see expressions of interest from academics who would be interested in representing their institution at this workshop in HanoiVietnam o­n 14, 15 and 16 April 2015. Costs would be covered by MRC.

Due to a limited number of spaces, we will o­nly be able to invite o­ne academic per institution to attend. Therefore, attendees will be expected to represent the wider interests of their institution as well as their individual interests.

 

If you would like to represent your institution at this workshop please submit anexpression of interest including;

·   A o­ne page cover letter outlining the research interest of your institution for collaboration with Vietnam

  • Your CV and a note highlighting your professional interest in attending this workshop.
