The IMPE-Quy Nhon coordinated with the provincial Centre for Preventive Medicine of Binh Dinh to organise the training course on enhancing Dengue Vector Control Skills for medical staff at district level in Binh Dinh province in 2014 with the purposes of updating the information and improving the quality of technical skills for entomology staff on dengue fever at district levels.
Binh Dinh is one of provinces with high rate of dengue morbidity against the provinces of Central Vietnam and the whole country. Rates of degue morbidity and mortality in 2014 until now decreased against the same period of last year and the period of 2006-2010; however, risk of dengue outbreak can occur in many areas, especially in Binh Dinh province, so activities of surveillance and vector control needed to be deployed strongly in provinces/cities having high indexes of vectors. The training course was organized acoording to the plan of dengue control in 2014 with a view to enhancing the effectiveness of the prevention and control of dengue vector in Binh Dinh. Participants to the opening ceremony of training course included the leaderships of the IMPE-Quy Nhon, the Centre for Preventive Medicine of Binh Dinh and the attendence of entomologic staff being responsible for dengue fever control in 11 district/communal/city medical centres of Binh Dinh province.
